Enrollment Information
Calhoun County Universal Preschool now has enrollment packets available for parents to enroll their children in Pre-K or Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year. Enrollment packets may be picked up at Arnoldsburg Elementary, Pleasant Hill Elementary, DOHS or Calhoun County Board of Education during school hours. The registration fairs are held to assist families in getting the necessary documentation for starting school. We will conduct, hearing, vision, and dental screenings at the event and have stations for students to visit.
All children who are 4 years old before July 1, 2026, are eligible to apply for enrollment in Pre-school.
All children who are 5 years old before July 1, 2026, are enrolled in Kindergarten.
Calhoun County Schools will be conducting Pre-Registration on the following dates:
Friday, March 6th, 2026, at Calhoun County Middle High School from 9AM-2:30 PM
Please call Saundra Ballengee at 304-354-6022 ext. 402 or Jackie Allen at 304-655-8616 ext. 110 to schedule an appointment. If school is canceled or delayed, registration will be rescheduled for March 13th at CCMHS maintaining scheduled appointment times.
All children applying for preschool must have the following documents before the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
· Pre-K Universal Application
· Certified Birth Certificate (Vital Statistics Certificate from Charleston only)
· Immunization Record
· Preventative Health Screen (Well Child)
· Dental check
· Hemoglobin test (available through your physician)
· Lead Screen
· Proof of Income (W2, 1040, or proof of Government Assistance)

Any child; from birth to three, thought to have developmental delays, is also eligible to be screened for possible services.

Due to a road blockage near Sugar Camp, Bus 11 is running approximately 30 minutes behind schedule this morning. The bus will be going through Grandville and taking an alternate route around the blockage.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Reminder!
All incoming 7th and 12th grade immunizations must be up to date in order to return to school on Monday August 17.
In addition any student that has emergency medication needs to have the medication brought to the school on or before Monday with provider orders. This is to ensure student safety.

Good evening, just a reminder that our annual county-wide Back to School Bash will be held Tuesday, August 11 from 4-6 pm at Calhoun Middle High School. Due to construction, please use the back high school gym door entrance and exit. No other doors should be used. Thank you!

Students' First Day: Monday, August 17

Good evening and good news. Calhoun County Summer School Camps will continue at Arnoldsburg Elementary School tomorrow. Just as a reminder, Art Cart will be here Wednesday through Friday of this week with fun and engaging art lessons for grades 6 through 11. If you didn't get a chance to sign up there is still room. We look forward to seeing you there. Also, as a reminder there will be Hunter's Safety classes at AES on July 28th and 29th. There is also still room for students to attend Hunter's Safety.
Due to a water line break, summer school will be closed tomorrow Tuesday, July 21.
