The children were thrilled to receive these gifts, and the gloves will keep their hands warm and cozy throughout the cold winter months. 🎉 What an amazing day at Pleasant Hill Elementary! Our Holiday Winter Celebration was full of joy, music, and community spirit. The students looked fantastic and truly sang their hearts out! A huge thank you to everyone who makes this program happen year after year—it truly takes a village, and we have the best one here at Pleasant Hill Elementary. Schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16th. This will be an NTI Day. Students should complete Snow Packet #1. Administrators and 240-day staff will report at 9:00 AM.

Due to Monday’s Snow Day, we’ve made a few changes for this week:

Cozy up in your favorite winter sweater or snow-themed attire!
✅ Wednesday (Dec. 17) – Jingle Bell Glam & Holiday Program
Dress your best for the Holiday Program—think fancy outfits or festive accessories!
(Program moved from Tuesday to Wednesday.)
✅ Thursday & Friday remain the same:
🎄 Thursday – Frosty Fun Day (Holiday PJs or comfy winter gear)

Mother Nature likes to play tricks this time of year, so we've had to make an adjustment! The Winter Celebration Program featuring "Narbert the Narwhal's North Pole Neighbors" will now be hold on: 🗓️Wednesday, December 17th ✅ All times remain the same: ⚫️ 9am - 10am: PreK, Kindergarten and 1st Grade families ⚫️ 1pm - 2pm: 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grade families Reminder it is the same program both times! We ask students to please stay after the first performance so the 2nd can be just as great! Fingers crossed the weather improves so we can continue with no more changes! ❄️☃️

In this musical, Narbert brings peace and kindness to a group of North Pole neighbors caught up in petty arguments—while teaching compassion through song! It’s a heartwarming story with a deeper message about understanding and patience, but most of all, it’s just a lot of fun.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you! ❄️✨

📦 Fundraiser Order Update 📦

Orders from our recent fundraiser are scheduled to arrive Wednesday, December 10th (8 AM – 3 PM). Please note that pickup may not be available until the following day. We’ll send out a call on Wednesday to confirm when orders are ready.

Each student’s order will come in an individually packaged box with handles for easy carrying. Some boxes may be heavy, and some students may have more than one box—please plan accordingly for pickup.

Calhoun County Schools is excited to announce that Jeff Hunt has joined our team as the new (SSO)! Under WV Code, SSOs play a vital role in keeping our schools safe by monitoring security, deterring threats, and coordinating with law enforcement. While they cannot make arrests, they can intervene in emergencies and ensure rapid response. Jeff brings extensive experience from his 25 years with the West Virginia State Police and working closely with the local Sheriff’s Department. His background and dedication to student safety make him an outstanding addition to our district. Welcome, Jeff! Together, we’re committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for every student.
